SUPPORT & PLAY HELP

KEEP YOUR THREAD GOING

Support

Can I play offline?

Yes. Gameplay, artwork, and music are included in the installed app. A run started offline cannot join the global leaderboard, but your personal best is saved on your device.

How do shared tracks work?

The recipient needs THREAD installed. Shared app links include the course and custom settings. A track code alone identifies the course but may not include all of the sender’s settings, so use the full link for the same challenge.

Where is my progress saved?

Settings, achievements, streaks, and device bests are saved on your device. There is no account sign-in or supported transfer between devices. Keep the existing app installed when updating a test build.

Why hasn’t my score appeared?

Reconnect and open the leaderboard to retry a pending upload. Only eligible daily runs are ranked. Generated tracks are for your own challenges and do not enter the daily leaderboard.

When does Today’s Track change?

At midnight in the Pacific time zone. Everyone gets the same daily course. Earlier daily tracks can be played from Track Archive.

Reporting a test-build problem

Use the contact who provided your test build. Include your device model, app version, track number or shared link, and what happened. A screenshot can help. Never send passwords or private device credentials.

YOUR PLAY, YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy information

Updated September 7, 2026 · Current THREAD test release

THREAD is developed by One Thumb Arcade. This page explains the data handling in the current test release and on this information site.

Information on your device

The app saves sound and motion preferences, personal bests, daily attempts, achievements, streaks, custom-track settings, and a randomly generated player credential on your device. It also keeps a limited queue of ranked results waiting to upload. These records keep your settings and progress available between sessions.

Online leaderboards

When you use daily rankings, the app sends a random player credential and ranked-run information to our leaderboard service. That information includes the daily track, run identifier, score, distance, duration, and relevant timestamps. The service stores a derived player identifier and run records to maintain rankings, recognize your scores, and check submitted results.

Leaderboard viewers can see a shortened Threader ID, rank, score, and track. We do not ask you to create a public name or provide an email address to play. A Threader ID is a persistent pseudonymous identifier; it should not be treated as fully anonymous.

Sharing

Sharing is initiated by you through your device’s share menu. The result or track link you choose is passed to your selected app. THREAD does not read your contacts or verify who ultimately receives a message. The selected app handles the shared content under its own privacy practices.

Network and hosting information

Our online services use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare hosting. Those providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the services, and may retain operational or security logs. This information page does not include advertising or analytics scripts or ask visitors to submit a form.

Advertising, purchases, and permissions

The current test build does not include an advertising or analytics SDK or in-app purchases. It does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, or microphone. If future releases change how information is used, this page will be updated.

Retention and removal

Device progress remains until app data is removed; device or operating-system backup behavior may affect restoration. Pending ranked uploads expire from the app’s retry queue after 24 hours. Online player and score records are retained to operate the leaderboard and track history; they do not currently have an automatic expiry.

Clearing device data does not delete records already submitted online and can disconnect your device from its previous Threader ID. During testing, direct privacy questions or requests about an online record to the contact who provided your build, and include the public Threader ID and relevant track numbers. Do not send your private player credential. We may need additional information to verify a request.
